A museum appeal for exhibits turned up two rare handbags.
Replica Chanel WatchA 1940s enthusiast has loaned two gas mask handbags to the James Herriot Centre's exhibition Pockets to Pouches.
They were used by women in the war years as they looked like an ordinary handbag, but housed a special compartment to take a gas mask.
A spokesman said: "The leather bags are especially rare as most leather had to be used for military purposes."

Both bags will go on display in the exhibition and will be used in a talk at the Herriot Centre, Irene Rodgers, from 4pm-6pm on January 19. Tickets cost pounds 5 including refreshments. Call 01845 524234 to book.
